The Board
Annelie S. Annelie has had her son Alexander in Swedish School since the fall of 2007. "I recommend all Swedish talking families to join; it has been very good for our son's Swedish, and also very fun to get to know other Swedish-speaking families."
Angelica P.
"The Swedish School gives me the chance to show the children that it is not just me who talks that funny. It's also incredibly rewarding to be part of the Swedish School and it has helped me and the children to be more active in the Swedish language and Swedish culture."
Born and raised in Turku, Helena has lived in the US since the mid-1990s. She handles recruitment and process development for a translation company. Helena has been actively involved with the Swedish School since 2004 when her daughter started attending. On the board she has been vice-president, chairman for three years, and currently handles communications. Since September 2010 Helena has been teaching the Nytänkare-group.

He moved to Boston in 2000. Sandro has two children in the Swedish School. Sandro works in the "private equity" branch. He has been with the Swedish School since Spring 2002 when his daughter started, and helped them move from Needham to Wayland that summer. He has been with the school board since the school year 2002-2003, first as a secretary (one year) and since then as treasurer.
Charlotte L.
"Julia started Swedish School in autumn 2009 and really enjoy herself. Her Swedish has developed enormously since she started at the school. To meet other children who speak that funny language mom talks have made Swedish more natural for her. It is also fun for me to meet with all the parents once a week."
Charlotte grew up in Jönköping but feels that Ronneby in Blekinge, where her parents live, is more like "home" now.
Charlotte has lived in the USA since 2000 when she moved to Boston with her American husband after a few years in London. She has worked for PTC - a software company with headquarters in Needham - since 1998. Right now, she is responsible for the Technical Support Operations.
Catharina Catharina is the teacher in the Blåbär group. She was born in Jakobstad, Finland where she grew up in a completely Swedish environment. In the year 1990, Catharina moved to California where she met her husband Eric. Seven years later they moved to Boston. Catharina has three kids; Samantha, 14 years old, Isabella, 7 years old, and Nicholas, 4 year old. Isabella is a student in Nytänkarna and Nicholas in Hallonen. Catharina has a master's degree from a school of economics, but she has worked with preschool/daycare for several years now. She has also been a scout-leader and a private teacher in German. Now she is in charge of Docent Art Program within Samantha’s school. Catharina has been the ultimate force behind the more structured preschool part of the Swedish School in Boston. She started working at the Swedish School in 2002.
"It is very fun and interesting to witness the development of the Swedish School. The kids are getting a good education and in preschool many things are introduced in a playful way. It is a good mixture of language, culture, and traditions. Welcome to us!"
